Please see below the full details on the different types of reach on SoAmpli:

  • Standard Reach: The reach of the social account to which a post is shared at that point in time (this can be the number of the personal connections of the user who is sharing through SoAmpli, or the followers of a specific company page if the user is sharing to a company page).

  • Extended Reach: The reach of social accounts who retweet posts shared by your company's official pages via SoAmpli.

  • Combined Reach: The sum of standard and extended reach.

Please note that the way we calculate Reach is an estimate. This is the number of people/connections that you could potentially reach based on the number of friends/connections/followers you have on a specific social media accounts attached to your SoAmpli profile. For each platform, this is calculated by:

1) Facebook: Reach is the number of people who can potentially see a post on Facebook, either being personal connections of the user who is sharing through SoAmpli, or followers of a specific Facebook company page.

2) Twitter: Reach is the total number of unique Twitter users that can potentially see a specific post tweeted through SoAmpli, being followers of the Twitter account the user is sharing to.

3) LinkedIn: Reach is the number of times an update can be potentially seen on LinkedIn by users, either because they are personal connections of the user who is sharing through SoAmpli, or followers of a specific LinkedIn company page. Due to LinkedIn's strict APIs, the number of connections we can track in SoAmpli is cut off at 500. So even if they have 3,000 connections, this will still appear as 500 in SoAmpli.

On the leader board, we display the "average reach" per person. To calculate a user's average reach, we analyse the shares created by a specific user and average the reach of these shares to give an idea of that user's expected reach per share. For more information on potential vs. average reach please see this article in our help centre.
